RFID QUESTIONS

Active RFID tags have a transmitter and their own power source (typically a battery). The power source is used to run the microchip’s circuitry and to broadcast a signal to a reader (the way a cell phone transmits signals to a base station). Passive tags have no battery.

Active RFID tags have a transmitter and their own power source (typically a battery). The power source is used to run the microchip’s circuitry and to broadcast a signal to a reader (the way a cell phone transmits signals to a base station).

Passive RFID systems use tags with no internal power source and instead are powered by the electromagnetic energy transmitted from an RFID reader. Passive RFID tags are used for applications such as access control, file tracking, race timing, supply chain management, smart labels, and more.

There are 2 ways to track and manage your assets with RFID.

  1. Semi-Automated
    • Scan barcodes and or QR codes with your smartphone or other scanning devices.
  2. Automated
    • RFID readers automatically register and update in Locera.
RTLS QUESTIONS

Our customers use locating data in a number of different ways that include real-time tracking of forklift traffic, product bins, pallets, critical assets, tools and materials. Just to name a few.

Batteries can last between 3-12 months depending on transponder type and signal frequency.

The minimum numbers of gateways that can be used for an RTLS system is 4.

It is recommended to have the gateways hung from the ceiling or walls.
